10 Ways to Make the Most of Your Membership

  1. Volunteer to make refreshments for a meeting, and bring copies of the recipe to share with members.
  2. Parking is limited at some of our events.  Volunteer to drive and invite friends to carpool with you.
  3. Suggest program ideas to board members, including our vice president who is in charge of programming.  It can be a challenge to come up with fresh and creative ideas, especially during the late Fall and early Spring months.
  4. Give a few hours of your time to help with a service project, such as our garden horticulture program.  If you’re working and don’t have time to visit a nursing home, please consider donating flowers from your garden during the summer months.
  5. Share your talent and energy to help ensure the success of our fundraisers.  The gift of your time can help us provide scholarship support to a local student, increase the funds that are available for local grants, and help our community in other ways.
  6. Invite a friend, neighbor, or co-worker to join you for a program, and encourage them to become a member!  We are especially eager to share our love of gardening with young people.
  7. Encourage organizations in our local community to apply for a grant.  Service is important to what we do, and we truly enjoy providing grants to local schools, libraries, and other organizations.
  8. Let us know about garden-related events happening in our region.  We are pleased to publicize these for members and visitors to our Web site.
  9. Make it a point to meet new friends at our programs, in addition to socializing with neighbors and others you’ve known for years.
  10. If you have a special skill or talent that you think might be of interest to the Club, or know someone else who does, please let us know!
